Preparations Continue for the SIRIUS FM-5 Launch

BAIKONUR COSMODROME, Kazakhstan, (ILS) –The Breeze M upper stage designated for the SIRIUS FM-5 telecommunications satellite launch arrived at the Baikonur Cosmodrome on Sunday, 07 June. The upper stage was delivered from Moscow, where it was manufactured by the Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center. Over the next few days electrical testing will continue on both the Breeze M as well as the launch vehicle.

In addition, preparation for spacecraft fueling has begun and launch vehicle pneumatic testing has completed. SIRIUS FM-5 was built by Space Systems/ Loral for SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. on the 1300 spacecraft bus.
