SpaceX successfully launches Falcon 9 JCSAT-16

On August 14, 2016, Falcon 9 successfully delivered the JCSAT-16 commercial communications satellite to its targeted Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO).

The Falcon 9 rocket was carrying the JCSAT-16 communications satellite built by Space Systems Loral for Tokyo-based SKY Perfect JSAT Corp. JCSAT-16 will be a backup satellite for Ku-band and Ka-band communications services over the Japanese market.

The Falcon 9 first stage also landed on our droneship stationed in the Atlantic.
