Hello to everyone. I'm new to this forum , but have something on my mind concerning space flight. I know a propeller can't be used in space, but what if the propeller was encased in a metal cylinder with holes at the back. Air was then blown over the front of the propeller and ejected through those holes. Would this form a propulsion?
I look forward to reading your comments |

Well, it would *work*, but you have to carry the air. Given the very low exhaust velocity of such a system, you won't be able to go that fast.
Basically, what you'd have is a more complicated cold gas thruster. |
