These latest articles say when tested in a vacuum, lasers shot through the device came back with faster then C readings?

warp bubble is the idea they have?

thoughts??

That is a rather extraordinary claim, esp. considering their first results are far-fetched and run contrary to established engineering and experimental experience.

It would be neat if it were true, but I reserve the right to be skeptical. It's more likely to be doubling down on experimental error and trying to milk it for as much as they can before it goes cold-fusion on them.

Yeah I am not holding my breath or anything, it's just what a paper I read alluded to about a possible static warp bubble

I think you are maybe entitled to at least one token "I told you so"

Other websites seem to been backing away from the idea its a shame it would have been nice if someone had figured out how to interact with virtual particles in a controlled manner. After all we know the Casmir effect exists and is real so we know weird stuff does happen in the real world but exploiting it in a controlled and repeatable manner seems to be taking a long time.

Just to keep the links upto date

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/science ... hours.html

It could be this things is like cold fusion and keeps getting resurrected me personally if NASA really thinks these things work I would take 3 or 4 upto the #ISS and see if they could reorient it and if it did even if it took a while(and they could still argue over how it works but IMHO empirical results trump theory 9 times out of 10   ) it would save very expensive fuel if you could run from solar power.

Of course, so is "cold fusion" periodically...

If only it were like imaginary numbers multiply them together and get a real number an emdrive powered by a cold fusion reactor would make the world a more interesting place   The guy mainly associated with the e-cat still seems to be making claims and as far as I am aware not yet behind bars for fraud and unless it is a fraudulent claim now seems to have a US patent on the e-cat the latest long running LENR/cold fusion saga

A patent doesn't mean something actually works.

I agree 100% patents are there as someone invented something and wants to gain of it something...not always.

For those who can access the BBC iplayer the emdrive is shown a few times in this Horizon program on project greenglow and various attempts at anti gravity. One version seems to "work" in the same direction when on its side as when it is orientated in the intended direction which suggests it could be a measurement problem or that the effect if it exists is not working as sometimes described.
