The N-Prize site is down at the moment - rest assured that this is a technical glitch! It should be back up shortly...

OK, the N-Prize site should now be back up and running (if your browser still says "site not found", you may need to refresh the page).

Cheers,
Paul

The site is back up and working again for me. Nice to see you are still about and posting occasionally

Cheers, and nice to hear from you too! Busy starting my own business, but the N-Prize is still alive and kicking :-)

Cheers,
Paul

Good luck with the new business anything you can tell us yet? does it have Nanotech in the name? As IIRC you were working on a small scale when we last met but my memory is not what it was so I could be barking up wrong tree. I'm still working on the patent of our patent pending launch tech with Richard so still buried in paper work both literal and electronic, I have given up on making predictions on when we will announce to the world but the proto patent is now over a hundred pages and includes an original equation so progress has been made.

Cheers
Alex

It's a genome editing company (www.mote.co.uk) - the same one I talked about a long time ago. Trying to do clever stuff with DNA. It's been low-key for a while, but I've just got some funding, and am now scouting around for more. It's immense fun :-))

Glad to hear things are moving forward with you! Good luck with the patenting - have you got a patent lawyer on board to help draft it? I was consulting on a patent case (one company challenging another company's patents) recently, and it's frightening how much can depend on just a single word or sentence!

Yes we are working with a patent lawyer and i know what you mean by careful wording we are already doing rewrites on preliminary reports from the patent office. I sometimes think we are more likely to die strangled by red tape than by a fireball whilst testing an actual vehicle but ho hum onwards and upwards

Well, if you're as far ahead as having discussions over wording, that's progress! Best of luck with it. Actually, red tape would probably make a cheap, readily-available fuel if you could pair it with a decent oxidiser.

Congratulations on the funding, Paul. Regarding oxidizers, isn't red tape always accompanied by a lot of hot air? You are absolutely right about meticulous wording in patents, but if SANEAlex is at that stage then publication can't be far off! Congratulations to you too, Alex.

By George, you're right!

You could also build the combustion chamber out of Administratum, which is the most durable and indestructable substance known to man.

I think you're onto something. I've seen cold hard facts crumble into mere speculation after contact with administratum. We even have some left over from the Roman era that shows no sign of wear at all.
