The Flying Start Global Fellowship is a FREE 6 month, all expenses paid, internship and education programme which takes the best entrepreneurial talent from UK universities and links them with the entrepreneurial environment in America. The purpose of the Fellowship is to encourage UK graduates to develop scalable high intensity, high impact businesses.
The Fellowship has two parts:
Part 1 consists of 6 months part-time in the UK where Fellows work with their sponsor university to develop their science, technology or engineering business.
Part 2 consists of 6 months full-time in the US as a Kauffman Global Scholar. Kauffman Global Scholars receive world class entrepreneurship education and spend time in leading US universities (Harvard, MIT, Stanford). They also spend 12 weeks as interns in leading innovative companies like Google, Sprint and Cisco. Scholars receive a weekly stipend plus all work related travel and accomodation costs are fully covered.
NCGE-Kauffman Partnership
The Flying Start Global Fellowship is the UK part of a 12 month programme made possible by a collaboration between the National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship, UK and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation of Kansas City, Missouri, US.
The National Council for Graduate Entreprenurship aims to increase the number of sustainable graduate start ups. Flying Start helps support and develop graduate start ups from idea to implementation.
The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation was established in the mid-1960s by the late entrepreneur and philanthropist Ewing Marion Kauffman. Based in Kansas City, Missouri, the Kauffman Foundation is the 26th largest foundation in the United States with an asset base of approximately $2 billion.….it is the biggest entrepreneurship foundation in the world.
