The UK private space organisation “Spacefleet” has a new website at http://spacefleet.co.uk. The organisation also has several new news items and more imagery of the EARL spaceship design.

Founded in 2004, Spacefleet’s goal is developing a novel low-cost launch system for human and cargo to LEO.

The Business Plan

The business plan for the Spacefleet EARL project is now attracting serious interest from some potential investors.

As the project progresses they expect to have much more to report, shortly. Meanwhile, some new artwork has being produced.

The Managing Director of Spacefleet met with two of the three international collaborators at the Space Conference in Dneproptrovsk, Ukraine in April (17th-19th) to discuss the project in finer detail. The meeting concluded with general assent that project was sound, that the collaborators were willing to continue it, and that funding would be sought for a mission analysis, forming the initial phase of project development.

Contractor Found For Scale EARL Model

They have recently found a contractor and agreed terms on building a scale model of the EARL spacecraft.

“We have been involved RC Modelling now for over 40 years having started in RC cars which lead to world and European championship wins and running many success teams in rc racing, But our first love was always the aeromodelling scene so like most RC Modellers we started on full builds from a plan and a pile of balsa, but have realised over the years that this is fine if you have the time and room. We have built a number of kits and loved every minute of building them, but with the introduction of some very good scale ARTF’s onto the market it meant that you could now take a proven airframe and do what you wanted with it in half the time if you had the skills.”
