Some info:
KST has been notified that funding in the amount of $10.7 million has been approved in the recently released final DoD FY 2004 budget. These funds will support the installation of air-breathing propulsion and environments special test equipment to meet a broad range of government and commercial testing needs, including key DoD programs. This installation will support the testing of pulse detonation engines, pulsed combustor and advanced swirl combustors for military and commercial aircraft engines, gas turbine engines for high dynamic pressure and high speed flight, and future Rocket Based Combined Cycle (RBCC), ram and scram jet engines. It will also support a wide variety of environmental testing for propulsion and other commercial systems and components. KST plans to be the prime contractor for a portion of the FY 2004 contract activities through the AFRL in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The contract is expected to be awarded in the first quarter of 2004 and continue through the second quarter 2005.
