VTTV-Omsk 2007 Russian Defense Exhibition Opened Today

KhSC -Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center is exhibiting in the 7th International Exhibition of Military and Defense Equipment, Technologies and Armament (Russian acronym “VTTV-Omsk -2007”) –opened today in Omsk and set to run through 9 June. Khrunichev general director Vladimir Nesterov took part in solemny opening ceremony.

A mock–up of Angara 1.1. launch vehicle (a next –generation Russia’s booster rocket family currently under development at Khrunichev’s Moscow –based divisions – Space Rocket Plant and Space Rocket Operation Plant) is a key exhibit of the exposition jointly arranged by Khrunichev and production association Polet – Khrunichev’s Omsk-based affiliated enterprise.

This year VTTV-Omsk has brought together more than Russian and foreign 200 participants, including industry leaders from over than 40 countries.

Two important events are set to take place within the framework of the exhibition. These will include a “Meeting on Science and Industry Complex Development of Sibirian Area” and the 4th Technological Congress. Administration of Sibirian Region, local officials, as well as business, industry, science organizations and research institutions will participate in the events.

The VTTV –Omsk is aimed to booster development of science and industrial infrastructure of both Omsk and Sibirian Region.
