Telesat's Anik F3 Begins Commercial Service

International Launch Services would like to extend our sincere congratulations to Telesat on the succesful commencement of commercial services on Anik F3. We are excited to have supported a long-standing customer in another outstanding mission and this occasion is made even more distinguished by the recent signing of another Proton mission for Telesat and ILS.

Telesat announced on Tuesday that the commercial services on the state-of-the-art satellite, Anik F3 had officially launched. Anik F3 provides broadcasting and telecommunications services throughout North America in addition to carrying a Ka-band payload.

Anik F3 was launched on April 9, 2007, on Proton Breeze M from Baikonur Cosmodrome and placed in to orbit on April 10, 2007. For more information about the launch including multi-media features and press information, visit our Anik F3 Launch Archive.
