Ever wanted to be an astronaut? Well, now’s your chance. New Scientist has teamed up with Audi to offer one skilled winner an out-of-this-world experience: a flight that will take you 100 kilometres above the Earth’s surface.

To win this astonishing prize will take some imagination. We want to know what you think is the world’s best patented invention, and why. You have up to 250 words to make your case. The judges will be looking for originality in both the choice of invention and the reasoning.

Give us your idea to enter.
All entries must be received by 30 April 2007.
