X PRIZE Foundation & NASA going to announce a new competition

The X PRIZE Foundation, in partnership with the NASA Centennial Challenges Program, will announce a new competition on Friday May 5, 2006. The National Space Society, in partnership with the Planetary Society will host this announcement at this year’s International Space Development Conference in Los Angeles. This is the commencement of a new exciting partnership between the nonprofit foundation that inspired the surge in personal spaceflight and the most developed government space program in the world. All media are invited and encouraged to attend.

What: Announcing a new NASA Centennial Challenge
Where: The Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Los Angeles, California
When: 10:00 AM (PT) on Friday May 5, 2006

There will not be a formal press conference, however there will be an opportunity to conduct one on one interviews with X PRIZE Chairman and Founder Dr. Peter Diamandis after the announcement. Press kits will be available on CD or in print after the announcement at the X PRIZE Foundation display booth.
