(NASA) – The Expedition 20 and STS-128 crews enjoyed a light-duty work day aboard the International Space Station Friday as they continued with supply transfers and preparations for the third spacewalk.

All 13 crew members gathered to participate in a joint crew news conference, answering questions from media in the United States, Canada and Sweden.

Station Commander Gennady Padalka and flight engineers Mike Barratt, Roman Romanenko, Robert Thirsk, Frank De Winne and Nicole Stott also had some off-duty time scheduled and continued station maintenance work. In addition, Stott, Thirsk and De Winne had about two hours scheduled to study H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV) procedures. Japan’s HTV is set to launch to the station Sept. 10 and arrive a week later.

The crews resumed transfer work for the rest of the day. The crews also prepared the spacesuits and airlock for the third and final excursion of the mission slated for Saturday. After a review of spacewalk procedures, mission specialists Danny Olivas and Christer Fuglesang are slated to spend the night in the Quest airlock.
