Earlier today we reported that the Falcon 1 launch by SpaceX had been delayed until at least february. This news was reported on several websites, but it turns out that this news was about the second scheduled launch from Vandenberg airbase in California. Apparently, the extra engine qualification tests that pushed back the first launch were successfull afterall, so this launch from Omelek Island is still on. Hobbyspace just updated their report with the following statement from Elon Musk himself:

Update – Elon Musk says, “The engine test went perfectly, development is 100% complete on F1 and launch is scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend. Chafer is talking about the second launch of F1.”

With the announced web broadcast of the launch this will make for interesting viewing in between the turkey and American Football!
