Alan Boyle writes: As hundreds of engineers work meticulously to find out what went wrong with one little postcard-sized sensor in the shuttle Discovery’s fuel tank — a glitch that held up the launch of what must be a $2 billion spaceship — I can’t help wondering what must be going through the mind of Burt Rutan, who designed the first privately developed, piloted spaceship for around $25 million.
