They could have built something bigger but a billionaire was not available to fund their efforts
no not even a mere millionaire game designer was to hand !!!! of the handful of non competitors for the xprize only scaled and armadillo had the monetary resources needed to mount a realistic attack on the xpriize before it expired and even with the money and the genius of Burt and three trained pilots and no major technical cockups (despite one hard landing) Scaled just managed it. ARCA have made an important advance with thier composite engine,. designed and built by them in Romania and tested on a subscale vehicle not a stand, how many other new liquid fueled rockets were flown this year? rather than piss on thier efforts, posters in this forum might consider commending and encouraging them insted. one further point, rocketry is not encouraged in europe its pratically forbidden in germany even small hobby rockets are banned in ireland, that ARCA and Starchaser have got anywhare at all is a minor miracle. wormhole |
