Given bad_astra's masterstroke letter to Feeney, and Feeney's quite long reply, we've all probably formed opinions on whether or not da Vinci is actually going to fly anything, ever.
So let's see what the X-prize community thinks. DKH _________________ Per aspera ad astra |

Brian Feeney's reply to bad_astra shows that most of the doubts are missing a real basis and necessaryly were founded on suspicions.
More - the reply says that there will be a launch as soon as possible which depends on deliveries as I am understanding it as a not-native speaker. A launch seems to be important to me because Feeney is using a different concept providing solutions for several other "problems". Dipl.-Volkswirt (bdvb) Augustin (Political Economist) |

I posted I don't care, not to be sarcastic but I really have no opinion. Maybe they are ready to launch. Maybe they are a paper tiger. I'm not really concerned about it one way or they other.

agreeing with rubbernecker...I don't care one way or the other anymore. If he launches and actually makes it, I'll....well...I'll.....I don't know what the hell I'll do but it will probably have something to do with having to change my pants...if you get my drift......

I guess you all know my opinion. I think Da Vinci is for real, and I have felt they were a serious program with an excellent design for some time.

Yeah, and despite the fact that I have deepening suspicions that daVinci is no more than Blue Ridge upgraded, I have to say that I admire your opinion over that of Number2's, who today went unnecessarily rabid in another thread. But I still feel that we have no evidence as yet to conclude that daVinci is anything more than a slightly more articulate and upmarket Blue Ridge. We will know soon enough, and it may be the one issue that keeps this forum interesting now that the initial premise for our gathering has ceased to exist. DKH _________________ Per aspera ad astra |

Well I think by winning the X-prize, Burt and SS1 just saved Feeney from himself. I mean, come on, his very first launch was going to be an X-prize attempt?
That's.... insane. If Scaled tried to make 100km on their first powered launch, Mike M would've died. |

And if a human had been in STC for the first flight, he would have died. If Amradillo had put someone in the can on their last flight, they probably would have died. I am glad they will hopefully have something besides an all-up now.
