Hundreds of reporters showed up to cover Mike Melvill's flight into space on June 21. Do you think the coverage will be as great on September 29 when Rutan goes for the $10 million X PRIZE? Or is the second time around a bit less exciting to the press?

The interest will be greater now I suppose. Because of da Vinci's announcement it's a real race now and the press and the media will want to see and watch wether Scaled is successful in its first race launch as well wether it is more successful than June 21th I think.

Sadly I think there will be less press interest. The big boys like BBC and Sky will go but smaller networks will skip the expense and syndicate footage. The only reason I suspect they all showed up before was to get their own footage of the first private spacecraft exploding with the loss of the pilot. Now they have seen a success, they won't be all that interested. They might flock to Da Vinci if they get wind of the lack of preparation prior to their attempt though.
