In this week's issue of Space News, Peter Diamandis and Mike Melvill made the list of "Top 100 Who Made A Difference in Space." The list covered people who made a difference in space since 1989. Diamandis was one of the "visionaries and innovators," and Melvill was in the category of "explorers and trailblazers." (Incidentally, my dad made the list also).
Update: I also just realized that John Carmack made the list also, as a "person to watch." |

In another section of the board - I suppose "The Spaceflight Cafe" - I told of a book written by a marketing consultant. He explains the importance of visioneers and innovators.
I suppose the list is very worthy for the XPRIZE teams as well as for those of them thinking of the orbit. Which ways can be made use of this list? Dipl.-Volkswirt (bdvb) Augustin (Political Economist) |

You go to a potential sponsor, with your presentation and the mag under your arm... Of course, *we* all know Carmack, Diamandis, and Melvill, but people less interested in spaceflight don't. It would be a great reference. |

Why not scan it and quote it including the source? No property right would be hurt and it would help stimulating ideas.
Hello, Rxke, yes, funding is one use one can make of it. But there may be much more. And fund raisers have to find out what points of the projects to fund may be interesting to a person being listed. Each presentation has to be made fit to the individual person in question to be successful in getting as much fund as required or desired from this person. All this is valid too if not funds are desired but other useful help. What ideas do you have? Dipl.-Volkswirt (bdvb) Augustin (Political Economist) |
