What's going on with the Ruski team? They seemed to have most of their hardware completed a lot earlier than the other teams.I really like their lifting body design, most promising in terms of adaptability to orbital flight.
There hasn't been any news from them in months. _________________ Thank you very much Mister Roboto For helping escape when I needed most Thank you Thank you |

I checked the xprize website and the team isn't even liste there anymore. Have they pulled out of Xprize?
I checked the www.incredible-adventures.com site and they have removed any mention of upcoming suborbital flights on the Kosmopolis as well. Does anyone know what happened to that project? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() _________________ Thank you very much Mister Roboto For helping escape when I needed most Thank you Thank you |

It is on hold for now i believe. Their spaceship you see in pictures is just a model. They are seeking for more money like most of the other teams.

thank you...again
![]() Their carrier aircraft(first stagee) could be used by other teams who would then develop only the second stage. _________________ Thank you very much Mister Roboto For helping escape when I needed most Thank you Thank you |

I got in touch with the President of incredible-adventures. She says that they haven't done anything with Suborbital Corp. in a looong time and that they haven't heard from them recently. She said the she is still in touch with many of the X Prize team leaders and will be working out deals with whichever team is ready to go to passenger flights first. Incredible Adventures is working with Rocketplane the most out of any of the teams.
They are working with Space Adventures supposedly... I just emailed them today to see if they can get me any information... I'll let ya know. Meanwhile, here is the space adventures website: http://www.spaceadventures.com/media/info/vehicles/c21 _________________ University of Central Florida Industrial Engineering Dept. No problem.
And no, they dont, at least there is none that I'm aware of. I've been looking for quite some time now and I've talked to several people with connections about it, and no one seems to have been able to find one for them ![]() _________________ University of Central Florida Industrial Engineering Dept. I have heard that the only Cosmopolis hardware was that plywood mockup, and that nothing else was ever built. So in that regard, they were a couple of steps behind Blue Ridge Nebula Airlines, whose prototype at least got down the street.

I miss BRNA, sometimes I still check their web-site hoping they have done something new! As for the Kosmopolis mock up, I don't think it is even theirs... I am sure I had seen it years ago as a Russian/Soviet government proposal for a re-useable spacecraft. I may be wrong but I doubt it, that carrier aircraft is government developed and Kosmopolis looks REALLY familiar.

I wouldn't wonder if that were as you suppose - removing the socialism russia had and has to leave former governmental equipment and products to the privatized organizations and former leaders of combinates have to become entrepreneurs too. As the former socialist leadership has shown they are part of the traditional establishment and have easy access to govenrment developed things. Others don't have. So we should take that as a normal thing for russian teams and firms.
The problem for Suborbital might be that it's not of essential interest for Putin and/or the Kremlin and these both do everything to pull financial ressources and power to their interests. During the last few years there was a german article reporting that Suborbital plans to carry tourists to the orbit by a three-seat-spacecraft and to a station (if I remember right) - may be I'll find a web-adress in that article.
