Post Roll call all Florida members   Posted on: Sat Aug 14, 2004 4:06 pm
Just checking to see how everybody from down here did, considering our double-punch from Bonnie and Charley and (God help us) possibly even Danielle, especially since I know we have several folks in Orlando and Daytona.

As for me, Ocala didn't even get a respectable rain. We got a drizzle. No wind, no strong rain, no nothin'. We were all sittin' here wondering what all the fuss was about. My grandmother's old house down in Orlando (right off Conway) got totaled though.

Let's just hope Danielle goes for Mexico.

Down in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami Area... Got a steady 25mph wind yesterday and a few showers but thats all. Family in Cocoa Beach that we haven't been able to get in touch with yet though :( So we are just crossing fingers hoping everything is okay with them up there and that they'll call us soon to let us know they're alive so we can stop worrying.

Thanks, we're going to keep trying to get in touch with them... Meanwhile, family and friends up in the Carolinas just lost power as well *sigh*

Yeah, a friend of mine's up in Virginia right now, and she and her two travel-mates are going to have to drive through that mess tomorrow (gotta be home when school starts tomorrow).

Well, at least it's just a tropical storm now.

totally missed us in Vero. Not even high winds :)
Daytona got quite a beating I heard, and Riddle lost some planes.

Orlando Internatial got hit with 100mph+ winds. Don't know if they lost any planes, but that's pretty bad as it is.

Hope you are all OK. We are getting flooding problems in South West England, Scotland and Wales from degraded tropical storms that track back over the Atlantic from you. If i see any bits of airplanes with an "N" registration or race cars after the next bout of storms, who should I post it back to?

I'll take it! Then I can put them all in a big brown paper bag and say "Car and plane kits for sale really cheap!"

Heh... Helluva way for us to spend our Labor Day weekend, ain't it?

Good luck, everybody. I'm gonna have a whole lotta phone calls to make after this is over with to make sure all my friends and family are okay.
