Just thought I'd start a thread here so that the people who converse on this board can make some kind of plans to meet up at the launch or at least find out who's going. I've never posted here before, but hell....I'm going. It's like going to see Orville and Wilbur at Kitty Hawk and could set a new course in history and I really gotta go.
So how about this......say if you're going and where you're travelling from. Should be a cool thread and maybe we all meet up there!!! See y'all in Mojave, CA.....WOOOHOOO!! _________________ Because wherever you go....there you are. |

Would enjoy being there, in Mojave, CA; but may have commitments elsewhere in California which shall be preventing a desired trip.
Curious, however: The Ansari X-Prize Foundation "news release" [dated Thursday - Sept. 16th] from Toronto, Ontario mentioned the September 12th test launch by "The da Vinci Project". However, there has been no confirmation from that Canadian team's web site when I looked earlier this morning. By contrast, Scaled Composites has given unprecedented access and several advance notices of "SpaceShipOne" test launches and their detailed results. Will there be any effort by the X-Prize Foundation, or the Ansari officials and/or their judges [as time evolves closer to record attempts] to equalize the degree of news released for public consideration in this historical time of manned spaceflight? _________________ <s> DAVE PHILLIPS Founder and Chairman Mission Bay Research Institute Detachment X - PO Box 233 Salina, UT 84654-0233 <gogosian2001@yahoo.com> |

The X Prize organization is working very hard.. to get it as good as possible.; and other companies are hired to handle the public relations etc etc for latest news: http://www.xprizenews.org/ You could be intrested in this article: http://www.xprizenews.org/index.php?p=487 Quote: Curious, however: The Ansari X-Prize Foundation "news release" [dated Thursday - Sept. 16th] from Toronto, Ontario mentioned the September 12th test launch by "The da Vinci Project". The Polyethylene test balloon carried it's payload to 40,000 ft. in Colorado USA. The stress of the balloon at launch point and in extreme cold of 40,000 ft. was a complete success. _________________ Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible. - Lord Kelvin, 1892 |

Any details about the "gold box[es]" for verifying FAI certifications for the Scaled Composites and da Vinci Project planned flights in next few weeks?
Details would be most welcomed, please? _________________ <s> DAVE PHILLIPS Founder and Chairman Mission Bay Research Institute Detachment X - PO Box 233 Salina, UT 84654-0233 <gogosian2001@yahoo.com> |
