Despite my fingers being crossed for a spectacular hit it looks more unlikely now passing the 100 thousand to one mark.
http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/asteroidwatch/n ... e=2013-081 Still sufficiently close to give the robots a decent shooting star display I think. ![]() _________________ Someone has to tilt at windmills. So that we know what to do when the real giants come!!!! |

Well the next comet in the queue might give us a light dusting and some interesting clouds.

Some updated info on the comet passing Mars in a few days it looks like 71% of us are likely to be correct. Most of if not all of the outside chances have been ruled up by updated calculations of its orbit but we may still get a few interesting pictures later this month.

A bit more info with a video showing how the satellites in orbit around Mars will be in the shadow of Mars for the worst part of the debris from the comet.

Your welcome another for the collection a bit fuzzy but some put together in an animation IIRC some of the data collected over the last few days won't be downlinked until Thursday so there maybe some more interesting pics when they are finally processed. http://www.marspages.eu/index.php?secti ... newsid=802 _________________ Someone has to tilt at windmills. Despite no good pics of the meteor shower as far as I am aware its seems that instruments on various bits of kit detected enough data to know that there was a spectacular one that did for a while have interesting effects on the Martian atmosphere.
