Ouch. Pretty good adverse drop test of the capsule though! LOL.

There was a lot of smoke and fire! I'm not attuned enough to see what was good or bad, hope there is an update soon

You know, all these companies making rockets, and actually succeeding, seems like some kind of dream. It is something so new, that every time another rocket successfully launches, it is kind of unbelievable. It's like the beginning of flight, when airplanes were a novelty, and each time one took off, it was like a miracle.

Copenhagen Suborbitals just posted a new video about their new peroxide-powered turbine pump that they're planning to use to drive their new liquid rocket engine. I don't know what it is about this video, but it's somehow just beautiful, and very impressive too. Well worth 20 minutes of your time. Oh and the peroxide? They're making it themselves by distillation, which is very interesting considering that Armadillo declined to do so several years ago and went kerolox instead.

I did enjoy that vid and do quite like the idea of going back to H2O2 as i think modern methods of handling it could make it safer to use than cryogenic fuels along with its non toxic environmental benefits. And speaking as a Brit. the only satellite we have put up ourselves so far was using it as a fuel and if you watch the vids we had blue diamond effects using it back in the 60's. _________________ Someone has to tilt at windmills. I like the idea of beaming power, and using h20 and thermolysis,to detonate the
fuel spray spurts, then all the infrastructure can be on the ground, and the rocket can weigh almost nothing, think about the telescopes that bend there mirror array to compensate for atmosphere, now apply it to a large laser array, that is all focused on the rocket cone, powering it so space, from the ground, or at least most of the way, _________________ Let not the bindings of society hold you back from improving it.... the masses follow where the bold explore. |

Use a high power phased array in the millimeter-wave band and you don't even need that. Totally solid-state.
