Very nice. I especially liked the pic of your "observatory".
My 3 yr old daughter has expressed a desire for a telescope to look at the planets and stars. I am afraid I am going to have to indulge her. |

Haha, sounds ideal mate! Summer is a bit of a prob though as you need to go out so late
There are loads of great entry level telescopes, I would even go for super high power binoculars! She may hold them easier and better than most telescopes. _________________ > http://www.fullmoonclothing.com > http://www.facebook.com/robsastrophotography > robgoldsmith@hotmail.co.uk |

Looking forward to more! You promised Venus, where is she?
I tried if it was possible to see her phases (is that what you say? you know the analog to the phases of the moon) with my binoculars but 12x56 (on tripod to eliminate shaking) just isn't enough. guess I have to use my rubbish "toy" refractor again.. useless for DSOs but better than nothing for moon, jupiter, mars etc. never tried venus so far. _________________ pride comes before a fall |

I find venus so hard!
It is so bright and always looks an odd shape as is rarely round It shimmers and has such little detail _________________ > http://www.fullmoonclothing.com > http://www.facebook.com/robsastrophotography > robgoldsmith@hotmail.co.uk |

I've always liked looking at Venus when it was at crescent, its the only time it doesn't just look like an out of focus star.
I'll probably get a decent sized reflector, one she can grow into, and that I and my wife will find interesting. Biggest problem is the low altitude and light pollution here in the SE USA... |

Hi Rob,
I've got a Celestron C8 on goto mount,, and a Canon 450D. What's the best way to attached them together? I've occasionally read up on it, but it seem than you don't use the eyepiece to get any magnification when using a T piece, so you just rely on the resolution of the camera for closer pics. Or any I talking nonsense. James |

Something like this?
http://www.devoncamera.co.uk/index.cfm/ ... evonCamera I use something really simple to connect my SLR, it is basically a rod which has a screw on the end, the eyepiece connects it to the telescope then the screw goes into the camera's tripod hole! I got annoyed using DSLRs etc so I moved to webcams, not amazing quality but so much fun watching your live image on your monitor, looks good, snap!
