How many astronauts will be made in 2005?

Another related question: will the number of private astronauts in 2005 exceed the number of government astronauts in 2005? Yes, but to be fair you should also add that you are only counting NEW astronouts.

I once read someplace that in the entire history of the space program only 150 people have become astoronauts (this data is probably dated). If in 2005 the private sector produces only 5 astronauts this year, it will count as a massive chunck of the whole. The goverment sector may not be sending up any NEW astronauts this year or even the next.
