Paul points to a new team - WikiSat -
"Hey all, Please welcome our 19th registered team, WikiSat, from Denmark. Details will be up shortly on the N-Prize site. Their team website (www.wikisat.org) isn't quite active yet. Welcome, Denmark! Please drop in and say hello here on the Group. Best, Paul " |

Yes, welcom to Denmark's entry. We have one from Ghana (no URL or posts yet)
And, also, welcome to a possible reawakening of the forum. Quiet since April 10 #10 (Diadelus?) is still not listed Charles Pooley |

I'm not sure who #10 is, I think it was a team that was missing forms or something.

An update:
First balloon meetup On Saturday we held our first meetup on the Wikisat team. Tobias and Joshua met a few days in advance in Tobias’ hometown of Vienna, Austria. Alex and I could not make it this time, but hopefully next time. The event was planned as a full launch, but due to a number of shortfalls, including integration issues and the recovery system not having been completed, Tobias and Joshua decided to scale it back, and just test the parachute instead. Nonetheless, it was an instructive experience for everyone involved. As a consequence of the problems, we’ve decided to not plan “launches” in the future, but rather just “meetups”. The important thing is that we have fun and move forward on the project – not necessarily that we get it right in first try. This video was captured from the payload during the parachute test: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Jl6vni4 ... r_embedded Also see our collection of pictures from the day. |

A new video from the team.
I swear to God that it is almost impossible not to laugh when they realise their equipment is headed straight into a cliff! hahaha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHnjfW7Z ... r_embedded Tobias have put together a nicely edited video of his footage from the last team meetup in Austria. As you can tell from the attentive looks on the faces of the children standing by as he drops the test article from the heights of the Skywalk site, there is nothing quite as exciting as gaining some solid “ground truth” with a real test flight. Our thanks go out to Alexander, the friendly climber who kindly recovered our little shred of truth from the ground this time: hahaha, Rob ![]() |

Hi all,
I want to present you the satellite we will test in near space this week. This tiny satellite of 30 mm (1.2 inches) is called WikiWikiSat. It is composed by the Main Computer Unit (MCU), Inertial Reference Unit (IRU), sensors, Magnetorques, Radiolink and the Main Battery with less than 11 grams (0.4 oz) Best regards, Joshua Tristancho (WikiSat Team) |

Stick a BRCM2727 on it, a flash card, camera sensor, and get HD video too.....might add another 10g though. Would need to get it back after flight if no transmission capability.....

It would be cool to see a picture of each of those things individually. _________________ “Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.” -Anonymous |
