 Rockets Rule! Posted on: Fri Jun 18, 2004 2:43 amI learn by playing... and right now I am learning ray tracing... here's a science fictional rocketship armada I did tonight (I grew up loving 1950s SF, still do .
 ).

But, er, I would be careful about jumping on rockets under those circumstances having read science fiction writer C. M. Kornbluth's classic 1951 story "The Marching Morons." In it, to combat rampant overpopulation on earth, people are offered a free vacation--I think it was on Venus. Of course, the rockets were just dropped into the sun, alleviating the overpopulation thing. As the story ends, the guy who planned all this is being forced onto one of the rockets.
