Post Update and some more MSS videos   Posted on: Thu Mar 12, 2009 3:13 pm
Sorry we haven't done an update in a while. Over the past week and a half, we really got into our injector testing for the 750lbf engine (XVT-750LIT-1). I haven't been out there for all of our tests, but I think we're up around 50 tests in the past week and a half (a mix of 4-5s runs, and longer 20-30s steady-state runs). I'm also working on wrapping up the design for the actual engine module that's being wrapped around this motor. And Dave's working on finishing up the structural design for our next vehicle-XA-0.1D (aka Xoid)...I'll put together a bigger update when I get the time.

We have a few newer videos here (along with videos from a trip that we took out to FAR last weekend):

Just for clarification, the flight shown on Ben's youtube page was Paul Breed's vehicle, not ours. We're not quite there yet.

Post Post Space Access Technical Update   Posted on: Fri Apr 17, 2009 11:35 pm
Here's a post-Space Access technical update, with some info about our vehicle and engine progress. Sorry if it's a bit terse--I've been fairly sleep deprived lately.

To say it in the words of a fictional character: "Hell, it's about time!"

Loos like it came a little bit close to the fork lift?

Anyway, congratulations!

Thanks! We'll be going over the data tomorrow, but yeah it did overshoot on the way up. Baby steps.

Post Flights two and three   Posted on: Thu May 21, 2009 1:20 am
Did two more flights today. Also nice and stable. Hopefully testing an aluminum regen cooled engine tomorrow (same physical design as the copper 750 engine, but it has an anodization layer on the inside).

Post Aluminum Falcon   Posted on: Thu May 21, 2009 9:36 pm
Fired the all-aluminum engine 7 times today. May do a few more firings this afternoon. So far, so good. It looks like we may have steady-stated one run.
