id software - quite off topic

While reading a news release on the BBC about some software for apple macs that id software is possibly releasing, I just realized something. I never was really into the 1st player shooter games such as doom, but many, many of my spare hours as a kid were spent playing a game called Commander Keen (I ended up buying the full suite of games) - created by..... Id Software. Those few floppy disks provided years of entertainment - and then education (when I learned how to write basic code to compare saved files and a hex editor to give my saved game and ... advantage ... over my brothers) - that I am very grateful for. I've always been a fan of AA - now am even more so.
