I can only assume that this is a trick question and that therefore the answer is not 15 hours.

Besides, the information given is quiet open to interpretation.

I agree that if it supposed to be a trick question then the obvious answer of 15hrs won't do. So I will assume that since "it takes three men.... .... to build a rocket" then two men could not do it at all.

Well at least it was entertaining. If you want something a bit more challenging (and are handy with simple calculus) here is a fun one. Fun in the mind of a mathematics major anyway.....

what is the best straight line approximation to a parabola both equations passing through the origin.

or

what y=mx

best approximates

y=ax+bx^2

from x = 0

to x = h

by "best" I mean "least squared error"

Well that was fairly quick... and quite correct.

Rob I hope you note that nihiladrem hails from the UK. That should restore your faith.

if it took 3 men 10 hours to buils a rocket, then it would take 2 men 6.6 hours to build a rocket due to the fact that there would be only two thirds the disagreements and arguements.
nasa has what 10,000 people? and it takes them at least a dozen years to design and build a new rocket :D
