Btw, the Aurora, wasn't that one of the X-planes they poured a few billions in and (off course) was never flown? |

Aurora was said to be a military intelligence hypersonic aircraft equipped with a pulsed scramjet or so. Of course developed and flying from Area 51.

I know those stories. I've seen those crazy docs on the discovery channel when it actually had some good stuff on it. But i thought that in they end NASA or defense admitted that they had such a craft designed and was actually one of the X planes (i think the x-33).

X-33 was the predecessor of SSTO VentureStar and never flew. Besides that the whole program was covered from the beginning on.
A quite good overview over X-crafts: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ ... x-list.htm _________________ "The hardest hurdle to space isn't the technicalities and money. But rather, the courage and the will to do it." - Burt Rutan. |
