I was browsing through your latest posts, watching the movies of the A32/A33 missions, and remembered that you had previously described the creation of a CF drag-powered reel. I was looking, and didn't see the reel in the real version of the flight article. Did it fly? did it work? Thanks, Jesse |

Posted on: Fri Oct 26, 2007 4:36 pm We got behind schedule on testing the reel. It passed the 20 foot unreeling test, but we didn't have time for the 100 foot 'off the bridge' test. We had to bump it from the mission.
The reel is an important tool for the upcoming rockoon missions. We've penciled it in for Away 36 for flight testing. JP |
