I reported the news on our front/news page some minutes ago.. toghetter with 20+ other articles.. http://www.spacefellowship.com/News/ soon our news page and main page will change into a total new design, cause you need to go back to the second page already, to read all of todays news... too much news these days..
I knew Rocketplane was changing their site already for some time.. Maybe it's not looking wow how, like before.. but I think it's getting more functional and maybe better to provide their real status and updates.. we'll see what it will become ![]() _________________ Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible. - Lord Kelvin, 1892 |

NASA has just lent Rocketplane an RS-88 rocket engine for inclusion in their modified Lear jet XP craft. Its a 3 year loan so I'm not sure how long its goung to be before they start flight tests. Still I guess that they would have done a lot of the integration work already so we might see something later this year.

Rocketplane aims for suborbital launch in July I don't think we will see suborbital flights in 2006. |

Iain Yes, the next 2 years are critical for space tourism With 2007 Rocketplane schedule 2008 Virgin Galactic, Canaian Arrow, Bigelow inflatable module test IOS space shot (however, I am quite doubtful on this company) We will see many common people travel in space in foreseeable future At least far more than the previous years since the first man get into space |

There is an interesting article in the August issue of Popular Science on Rocket Plane, worth a read, mentions in the article a few people think there thrust to weight ratio may not be enough, but RP reckon they got it sorted!
Also talks abit about there rocket engine, but does not revel to much! Go buy a copy! Couldn't find a link my net is to slow for the pop sci website I think but the article might be on there. www.popsci.com Iain -------------------------- www.kiwi2space.co.nz |

According to the following quote from the article "Showtime for Spaceship Builders" ( www.space.com/news/061006_xprizecup_shipmakers.html ) Rocketplane might become a competitor of Virgin Galactic who also are interested in orbital launches via the WK2:
