armadillo update

just seen that they have got the engines working tiptop now. bjhowever could someone explain to me what there ship is like n if there are any pics? have they even built the final craft yet? if so how big etc? any vid clips.? robb

Hi robiwan,
Armadillo's spacecraft has gone through several design iterations. Although it was always going to be vertically launched, the original method for landing was with parachutes and a crushable nose cone to soften the impact. However, Armadillo has now decided to go with a powered descent (similar to the DC-X project of the 1990s). I don't think there are any pictures of the final vehicle yet; however, given the simplicity of their design I wouldn't be surprised if in one or two weeks we see some pretty cool stuff.
