TGV Rockets seems to be still alive. And they appear to making some progress. They are looking to hire some new people:Job Opportunities.
I found a nice pdf with an animation of the MICHELLE-B: http://www.nrl.navy.mil/techtransfer/exhibits/pdfs/Info%20Sheet%20pdfs/Space%20Info%20Sheets/Rockets.pdf. This reveals their sponsor: the Naval Research laboratory. There's no indication however how old the pdf is. |

The Naval Rearch Laboratory?
Wouldn't this have menat disqualification regarding the XPRIZE? The Laboratory seems to be governmental but to qualify for the XPRIZE governmental funding was prohibited. Dipl.-Volkswirt (bdvb) Augustin (Political Economist) |

The Laboratory seems to be governmental but to qualify for the XPRIZE governmental funding was prohibited. Scaled Composites made several projects for the Government etc... as long as their X PRIZE vehicle wasn't sponsored by the Government (maybe an other project of them was sponsored by the Naval Rearch Laboratory) it was ok. An other posibility is, they just ignored the X PRIZE the last few years, when Scaled Composites had a clear leading position. _________________ Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible. - Lord Kelvin, 1892 |

The article "TGV Gets Serious with Suborbital Reusable Rocket Design" ( www.space.com/businesstechnology/080428 ... helle.html ) is telling interesting things about TGV.
Obviously they still doing development and didn't give up the business they competed by to win the Ansari XPRIZE. Dipl.-Volkswirt (bdvb) Augustin (Political Economist) |
