Fifth of September this year I started a thread in the Projects section of the forum of the german section of the Mars Society asking if it might be imaginable that the Mars Society and AMSAT contribute to JP Aerospace's project and use it for their Mars missions.
It turned out then that I had to remove a little bit of confusion and a short discussion occurred (9 posts in total). But it was going to get a lot of views. A few days ago the rate decreased but today I suddenly recognized that the number of views has exceeded 350. That's sounding not too much - but this is a significantly faster growth of number of views than I personally observed at other threads of that forum. So the idea seems to be very interesting to the viewers there. Dipl.-Volkswirt (bdvb) Augustin (Political Economist) |

Ah, thanks. Where do you get your information about the ATO tests Ekkehard?

There is a .pdf about their concept under www.jpaerospace.com.
By the way - I avoid to list german links here unless I am asked to: Should I change that? Dipl.-Volkswirt (bdvb) Augustin (Political Economist) |

You can change words into links, without adding extra visible text, or harming a topics lenght (or width). So adding extra "information", isn't a problem. As example bbc or cnn can be links as well. You can do so, with selecting the word (as if you want to copy it), and click on "url" just below the subject, on the right side, and then change the first url, into url=http://www.yourdomainurl.domain/page When your mouse is above the URL button, you'll see a sample, just above your editing window of how to change the url. On this way, you can also hide more irrelevant, or source links, to make sure it's still available to those interested. _________________ Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible. - Lord Kelvin, 1892 |

I know, but does that PDF say anything about tests? I guess I'll have to re-read it.
As for posting links to sites that are not in English, the people who can't read it won't lose anything, and the people who do get more information. On the other hand, it might exclude people who can't read it from the conversation. At least I think there should be a notice next to the link, like this (in German). |

On page two of that .pdf they say
Quote: It’s being built now. The high altitude airship has been built and is awaiting test flights. Several Dark Sky Station platforms have been built and flown. Every piece of equipment for this system has been carried to 100,000 feet and tested in the environment. The first crewed DSS is scheduled to fly in eighteen months. The ion engine 120,000 foot flight test for the orbital airship will be flown in the next five months. I haven't reread the german thread but I think this I was referring to. Simply because I am watching it: The number of views into the german thread in between has achieved the 500-mark.
May be it has to do with mentioning the thread at this forum but on the other side it will attract attention and interest to JP Aerospace and/or their technology and doing. Dipl.-Volkswirt (bdvb) Augustin (Political Economist) |
