Rocket developer pledges space travel by next year
Related: Team da Vinci Project / Golden Palace Space Program Darren Bernhardt, The StarPhoenix, April 22, 2005 Even though he is still working on blasting a rocket from the flat prairie around Kindersley this year, aspiring astronaut Brian Feeney expects to be flying passengers by the end of 2006 and have 10 spaceports around the globe within the decade. His team has already started on Project Tiger, a seven-passenger craft for commercial space travel. The design was unveiled Wednesday at Science North in Sudbury, Ont. “We certainly have grand plans of mice and men to column-up the planet with spaceports, starting here in Canada and then expand to about 10 locations around the world over the next decade,” Feeney told The StarPhoenix Thursday. I told you guys, but did you believe me? No... Now the whole and nothing but the truth is out that Brian's space service will be operating a year before Burt's. By the time Virgin Galactic is up and running, Brian will offer orbital flights and jaunts to the moon. Burt wll be crushed, Sir Richard and Mssr Allen will be out their millions in investment. The X-prize will be re-awarded to its rightful owner. Flying Brian will be a billionare and will sleep with movie stars. Probably get ellected president eventually.

The great one has returned. Thank goodness, weren't we all getting a bit bored with all this techno chater nonsense on the forum lately?!
Siggy; I think it best you open a special thread for Flyin Brian. There is bound to be overwhelming support flooding in from his host of fans. Oh, and my daughter is already setting aside her lunch money. _________________ The Magic Helmet |

30 engine firings "under his belt" eh? Anyone verified this??? No...I'm sure they haven't. Ten spaceports within a few years...right.
The Magic Helmet returns spewing even more gradiose schemes that will never materialize. Karns....tell your child to guard that lunch money with her life if NSFB even attempts to enter Korea. I'm sure he'll be trotting out lots of PowerPoint stuff to raise money real soon. And the whole balloon thing was a farce too, eh? Just tell me why anyone should believe anything this charlatan has to say. Maybe he should start hanging with the guy from Texas who drags around the Flying Saucer...They'd make a great tag-team. I can't resist...Magic Helmet...MAGIC HELMET!!!!! _________________ Because wherever you go....there you are. |

Brian's been saying stuff like this dating as far back as 2001.
“The whole pioneership is sparking me on. Not to compare myself to Mr. Hughes – and I’m hopefully not quite as eccentric as that – but I can see lots of parallels in history and now and with myself.” One main difference between Brian and Howard Hughes is that unlike Brian Howard was a genius and actually produced working hardware. And as for the engine test every 3 weeks - well with all previous debate about their engine and the fact that Brian himself posted here on these forums to defend their claims. You would think the minute they had an actual engine, actually working, that Brian would be parading a picture of it all over the net. Sorry Brian tiny model rocket engines don't count. ![]() I found a website that keeps websites recorded, so I decided to check out his and sure enough his old web pages were there. You can even read their old web forum. http://web.archive.org/web/*/www.davinciproject.com Not all the pages display correctly. but if you look at the pages from Dec 06,2000 forward, you can view most of Brian's website. Each date change on the archive web site listing signifies a davinciproject website update. This is a link to the Wayback machine website:http://web.archive.org/web/*/www.davinciproject.com This is a link to one of the pages on the very old Davinci website back in 2000 here is the link: http://web.archive.org/web/200104250120 ... voices.htm The following is a excerpt from their guest book in 2000. Note: the posts bellow read from bottom to top. Lone Wolf - I'll watch it's first test flight on TV so I can see you in the front row when it blows up in your face. Actually, if they do have their wheels rolling, then I hope to see them try soon. And if they do become the first contestant to win the X-Prize, then I'll donate 6 months of my salary to them (only if they win). J.W. Toronto, ON Canada - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HEY J.W.-They have more than a website. The instrument and avionic packages are installed. The rocket motor needs to be shipped and they have run tests on everything. The vehicle is not far from flight and they have raised millions of dollars. The whole package is in a hangar at the Toronto airport.I will be there to see the first launch,so should you,if your not swinging the mop at chubby chicken. LONE WOLF Canada - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think this quote by Bob Zubrin (The Case For Mars) applies to our project; sums up our effort: "Making history is not a spectator sport. It's your turn at the plate." Cheers All, Brian Feeney Brian Feeney <brian@davinciproject.com> Toronto, On Canada - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey Lone Wolf, I was just pointing out what people are overlooking. Nothing has been done so far except for registering with X-Prize, creating a Web Site, and some computer graphics. Now all I read is people congratulating him for zilch. Just because he's canadian it seems like the whole country is sending him fan mail before anything has really been done. I'm canadian too but there's more to it than what's done. He should post a time line, to start, for the project like others have mentioned before. No offence but I don't think a single component of his rocket has even been assembled! J.W. Toronto, ON Canada - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey J.W.-Your the sham.Get a life!! LONE WOLF Canada - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This Davinci project looks like a sham. All these people are congratulating this guy for nothing so far. Let's see some progress before patting anyone on the back. J. W. Toronto, On Canada" |

Luxury of time? But probably not luxury of good will from the public...
I notice that they're now going onto a turbine-assisted launch, nice and easy eh. Well, I won't hold my breath. _________________ ~Dan |

I'm back!
Hey #2, I'm not too sure how accurate your web.archive source is. I threw in a site that I manage and update about every other month, and noticed that it didn't show many of these updates. In 2004, when I did about one update a month, it only showed two as having being done. Cheers |

The top left corner of their page displaying dates has this: "Note some duplicates are not shown. See all. * denotes when site was updated." I am guessing that this may be what you are looking for. Also some of the older pages are missing images, links and other things. As you may have noticed with Brian's early web pages. But basically by reading through them you get the jest of it. Bla bla Bla, Here I am your hero Captain Canada.... and so on. ![]() ![]() |

what the hell is going on here? "The da Vinci Project is considered the number two competitor worldwide in the emerging mega market of space tourism." How can journo's STILL be getting it so wrong? And how the hell would Canada Foundation for Innovation get sucked in too. sheesh Andrew |

Journalists aren't the brightest of creatures. I just tagged a few that lost their radio collars.
I think its time to put a few down. ![]() |

I personally make a point not to get most of my technical information from mainstream news sources. Unless it's Popular Science, Scientific American, or some such journal, I really don't tend to pay attention. As for the general public, yes it's very misleading. Journalists seem go wherever there's alot of attention. Since DaVinci partnered up with a big casino website, and blew up their project quite a while ago, "threatening" to beat Scaled to suborbital, they seem to have gotten more attention than Canadian Arrow, who I believe is taking a much more solid approach.
