8 1200lb/thrust solid's on that LES. Seems like the folks at Canadian are building their retro-A4-thingy for long term business. I doubt they'll win (Rutan is basically biding his time, now), but they will probably be ready for business faster then most.

Between each rutan test is each time weeks or even months.. so I think Canadian Arrow still got some chance to win... And maybe things can go wrong at rutan.. so second in the list.. can win it. |

Finally, a Canadian team that's back in the news (on a positive note, that is)! As usual, the Canadian Arrow's website is in bad need of a full update, but the CG is interesting. I think the link to the xprize press release is bad, though - it doesn't work for me.

Nope, we don't know when they will fly.
@slycker.. It isn't back in the news.. look at the dates... this is a very old topic brought back to the top by Elemag. _________________ Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible. - Lord Kelvin, 1892 |

Yep, I guess reading dates would help. Well, CA, how about a launch anyway? |

I just sent a friendly letter to Canadian Arrow asking how they were doing and asking if there was any news that they could share with us.
I got back the following: Mail Delivery Subsystem <mailer-daemon@gmail.com> to me More options 1:59 pm (12 minutes ago) This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently: info@candianarrow.com Technical details of permanent failure: PERM_FAILURE: DNS Error: Domain name not found Granted it could be a glitch but this is the second email in a month that I have had bounced from Canadian Arrow (I have only ever sent the two) I hope its’ just a move in servers or something. Maybe they have a new email address. I hope that they are not gone. _________________ By overlooking the obvious you may be overlooking the answer |

Heh I spent over an hour on a civilized email and got the address wrong, bad me
Thanks for pointing that out It hasn’t bounced this time so I am crossing my fingers that I get a reply. It’s a really nice letter so here is to hope. _________________ By overlooking the obvious you may be overlooking the answer |

They replied, they didn't say too much but it was polite and optimistic and best of all prompt.

I noticed that Canadian Arrow updated their page stating that the 45,000 lb engine test was successful. There were a few pictures one of which is named May 5.
Call me silly but I am excited. http://www.canadianarrow.com/ _________________ By overlooking the obvious you may be overlooking the answer |
