In the imagination of those who are sensitive to the realities of our era, the earth has become a space ship...
A very good article written May 10, 1965 by Kenneth E. Boulding, Washington State University Committee on Space Sciences http://csf.colorado.edu/authors/Bouldin ... earth.html It's almost a must to read. It shows us we can't continue like we're doing now... we have to learn still very much... greenpeace.. wwf.. etc are all great organizations, this shows that space science and exploration is really really important even for our own little earth. If earth was an own build space ship... we would be banned by some agancy from using it, cause of terrible usage and mannagement _________________ Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible. - Lord Kelvin, 1892 |

haha yea, we really are messing up our "space ship", but less now than we were in past centuries (relatively speaking that is). space travel/exploration will almost certainly be one of the solutions to our environmental problems, though likely in ways we can't imagine now.
