In this small video clip taken from one of Genesis I's exterior cameras on March 3, a bright spot of some kind can be seen in the lower-middle portion of the images. The bright spot doesn't stay in the same position, neither does it correlate with the same locations above the Earth based on the cloud formations below. Each picture is separated by 20 to 30 seconds.

Hello, Sigurd,
the bright spot appears to be a relection of light in the camera to me... Dipl.-Volkswirt (bdvb) Augustin (Political Economist) |

Yeps, I assume it's something like a lensflare as well.. But who knows :p But anyhow IF it was an object, it couldn't be far away from the station or it must have been very large, and then we would have known about it already in the general press.

So, who's gonna compare orbits of known items floating around "up there" to genesis' orbit? To me it looks like something reflected of something as the camera is not pointed to any known light source that powerful. Or maybe it was one of those light beams on the roof or LA discos?

The powerful light source would be the sun reflected off the genesis itself.

Yes, it looks like a lens flare. Notice how it rotates moves the same way as the shadows. There's also a very large lens flare visible on the last frame.
