Let's have a look into the variety of species all over theSF TV-serieses, -movies and literature.

In the german series "Raumschiff Orion" for example there is a species called "Frogs" by the humans but how they call themselves is unknown. They cannot live in an oxygen-atmosphere and it seems a bit as if they can't live in any atmosphere because they have removed the complete atmosphere from an earthian space station.

In the american series Moonbase Alpha 1 ("Mondbasis Alpha 1" in German) there is a species living in an Chlorine-atmosphere (or was it Clorine + hydrogen???!!???).
