There is an article under www.elt.de today reporting that a robot-suit called Rewalk has been invented. This suit enables people that can't walk because of a broken backbone to walk again - using other tolls additionally.
Migth that be a help for healthy people landing on a planet where the gravity is much larger than on Earth? They then are a machine partially - but the machine isn't linked to the brain yet. But to link it there seems to be possible already since the eyes of blind people already can be outfitted with a chip that enables blind people to see a bit. Beyond that I also read a time ago that scientists (may be japanese) in between can link words or primitive thoughts to activities to brains. All of this may be of meaning for spaceflight and space technologies beyond landing on other planets. What about it? Would this change or alter people outfitted with those technologies into a different species? Would people going into space or to other planets for a longer period of time become a different kind of beings? ... Dipl.-Volkswirt (bdvb) Augustin (Political Economist) |

Kevin Warwick had a chip implanted in his arm that allowed him to move a robot arm. It picked up on the signals and used them to control a robot arm.

There was an article under www.wissenschaft.de recently pointing towards this possibility the more.
Scientists have managed to create new links between the brain and muscles via external circuits. It refers to Biophysicists around Chet Moritz, University Washington in Seattle and Nature ( www.nature.com/ ), Online-Prepublication, DOI: 10.1038/nature07418.
