Starflight and Type III Civilizations

The problem I have with this topic is the concept of types usually applied. This seems to complicate answers.
There should be more types than those known because much more levels seem to exist if technologies are considered - without the proper technologies successfull spaceflight is impossible. This has to include such technologies also that enable to colonize a planet the environment of is significantly different to that of the home planet of a civilisation. This aspect is of meaning because it may be required to stop by on the surface of a planet where the environment is that different - in particular if nothing is known about the planets of the other stars. Next the concept appears to be too onedimensional as can be seen by the aspects already mentioned in this thread. What about it? Dipl.-Volkswirt (bdvb) Augustin (Political Economist) |
