So I was getting dressed for the day and I had this epiphany!
Build a giant washing machine in space and make your space ship look like a giant sock... who knows how far you will be transported? I call it Sock-Drive™ Sock-drive™ is based on well understood household quantum physics Better yet, for each ship that is transported into the unknown it will be replaced in our solar system with one alien ship or artefact. My father says it will work more efficiently if the sock-a-nauts™ are married... but I'm not to sure on that one. I have begun preliminary reseach by attaching powerful water-proof transmitters to individual personal garments. Unfortunatley, if my estimates are correct it will be over 4,000 years before their signals reach earth. _________________ What goes up better doggone well stay up! - Morgan Gravitronics, Company Slogan. |

Maybe it's because my english isn't that good... Can you explain me the relationship between: - giant washing machine in space - space ship looking like a giant sock ------------------------------------------ = Transported very far..... Please explain... you're catapulting it away or ? (I don't get it.. sorry) Or is it just a stupid joke with nothing deacent in it ? _________________ Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible. - Lord Kelvin, 1892 |

Maybe idiom is just trying to get a job over at Blue Ridge Nebula.

I'm pretty sure you have nothing to worry about, I doubt it's viral and tend to think it's a genetic affliction. Although I've seen people manage to achieve a similar mental state through many years of heavy drinking. |

no.... the question was just about to be found when earth was destroyed, and if fact i think it was the only reason why it wasn't destroyed earlier, but don't quote me on that.

Well it's been many years since I read the books but I thought the whole hyperspace bypass was simply an excuse to destroy the earth before the question was explained properly. |

Of course the question being explained properly may have destroyed the Earth anyway...

There's a 100 post club? Dammit. Guess I'll get there eventually, though rest assured I don't plan to do a whole lot of worthless posts just to increase my number.
It's also rather ironic that on my own forum I only have one hundred and something, when other people on that forum have well over 1000. It will be interesting to see whether we all still post here after the X Prize has been won if they don't announce another one. |
