Maybe some of USA's finest whizkid students will show these guys a thing or two about rockets

If you are interested in space and science, aged between 17 and 20 and would enjoy the experience of launching your own rocket, then apply to take part in this summer's European Space Camp, to be held in northern Norway at the Andoya Rocket Range.

Nowdays everyone seems to want to study law or politics- its nice to see those Europeans investing in launcher education

Hello, LunarHumans,

I know of such an initiative and it seems to have to do with too less interest here merely. This is valid regarding Germany at least.

The students here are interest in airplanes mainly but not in spacecrafts sufficiently. So ESA tries to increase the number of students interested in spacecraft engineering and construction.

Under www.marssociety.de there is an article about this. It doesn't tell about students but about the requirement of engineers but it clarifies the situation a bit.

The article tells that there is a lack of engineers and technicians at ESA - but regarding manned space missions there are more engineers and technicians than required while they are lokking for engineers and technicians require for projects like GOCE, SMOS, CRYOSAT2, ADM, EARTHCARE and SWARM - according to that article. ...
