As reported on the main xprize website, Space transport Corp is added as a new XPrize team.
What are it's chances to win the xprize ? Will it win before Scaled Composites ? Will it fly before Armadillo Aerospace ? Personally I guess they will compete with Armadillo Aerospace for a second place. _________________ Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible. - Lord Kelvin, 1892 |

STC Founders
Phillip Storm Phillip Storm is the President of STC. He attended the University of Michigan where he received a BS in Mathematics in 2000. For a two-year period, he engineered rockets with the Aerojet Corporation in Redmond, Washington. Phil began designing solid rockets in an amateur capacity in the mid 1990’s. Eric Meier Eric Meier is the Vice-President of STC. He attended the University of Utah and received a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 2000. In the summer of 1998, he worked with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA, in the Advanced Propulsion Technology Group. For a two-year period, he engineered rockets with the Aerojet Corporation in Redmond, Washington. --------------- With Aerojet, the founders gained experience building and testing small rocket engines and related hardware. They developed products used on Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and NASA flight vehicles and worked closely with those organizations in many instances. Aerojet is a top-notch aerospace company. Unfortunately, at such companies today, bureaucracy has a tendency to stifle innovation. To avoid such constraints, the founders have started STC. It appears that both Phillip Storm and Eric Meier have learned the lessons of bureaucracies, both NASA and especially corporate. I wish them well. ![]() |
