According to http://www.space-travel.com/reports/Explorers_Flight_Launch_Set_For_June_999.html:
The Explorers Flight will be launched on board a Falcon 1 rocket from the Marshall Islands, which are located in the Western Pacific. Launch is projected to occur in early June 2008 (no earlier than June 10). As has been our practice in conducting our six previous launches, when we believe that we are approximately one month from launch we will e-mail you an invitation to the launch, providing you with a detailed agenda of our launch-related activities. Ahhh, at last! This may be worthly enough to be posted as a news, perhaps? _________________ It's okay Pluto, I'm not a planet either. |

Any news? According to http://www.spaceflightnow.com/tracking/index.html:
Quote: Late June Falcon 1 • Jumpstart Launch time: TBD Launch site: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands The SpaceX Falcon 1 rocket will launch the Jumpstart mission for the U.S. Air Force Operationally Responsive Space initiative. The Jumpstart mission will fly the Trailblazer spacecraft built by SpaceDev, Inc. Also, usually a few days before actual launch, Kimbal (Elon's brother) usually posted something on his blog (http://kwajrockets.blogspot.com/). There's nothing yet. Ahhh |

Of course I am impatient to see it launch, but I was pleasently surprised at the payload. Not just one, but several real paying payloads. Some of them private. All on one cheap rocket. This is the way to go.

Let's just hope they don't screw anything up, when they have so many eggs in that basket :)
