Surprised the rest of us, because we hadn't had time to have him run the trajectory for us in Flightgear. But it was well within abort limits, and he had it under control apparently. As I've told others, it's kind of like the Delta-IV takeoff fireball. There were reasonable engineering reasons to do it the way he did it, and it was perfectly safe, it just scared the crap out of everyone who didn't know it was supposed to do that... ~Jon |

Masten Space Systems will be making their second attempt at the Level 1 prize purse in about 2.5 weeks: October 7 -8 at Mojave, CA

On the site ( http://space.xprize.org/lunar-lander-challenge ) it says: October 7-8 (Level Two), and October 28-29 (Level Two)
