We're planning to fly to around 1100 feet on Saturday at the Friends of Amateur Rocketry site north of Mojave. Wish us luck! It'll be the highest we've done, and the highest VTVL flight in any state not New Mexico (DC-X) or Texas (AA). :-)

Here's a video from one of today's precursor tests:

The rocket is really behaving itself well.

Awesome video!

Can't wait to see/hear how your weekend session turned out (and Paul Breed's as well, I'm holding my breath for the BlueBall!)

Ours went perfectly, I'll try to get a video up tonight before I go home. It'll show up at http://www.youtube.com/bbrockert in an hour or two. "Robot xombie rocket wants to be your friend" is the flight from Thursday to sixty something meters.

Paul's Blue Ball crashed. It had a roll excursion and he hard aborted it. It landed on the computer box and broke the engine off.

Sugar Shot's electronics test flight also failed, not parachute deployment on the upper section.

Looking forward to the video. Sorry to hear about the blue ball. Sounds like an exciting day out at FAR.
